How to use this Charades word generator

Confident actors want multi-step situations and competing intentions, beyond everyday one-action charades. Break the scene into a clear beginning, problem and reaction. Keep both feet on a safe surface; all objects and obstacles can be imaginary.

Choose a round for your group

Use 90 seconds first. Award a point for the whole situation rather than a single verb. A correct guess earns one point under these optional house rules. Decide whether passing costs a point before play.

Use categories and difficulty together

Conflicting intentions, Two stage scenes, Invisible obstacles provide different starting points. A narrow filter may have a small pool. Try a practice turn, then adjust the level for the actual players rather than treating difficulty as a school grade.

Keep turns fair and playable

Only the artist or actor should see the revealed prompt. Other players look away while it is selected. Keep paper and pencils ready for drawing; acting needs only a safe space and imaginary props. A player may pass without explaining why. Avoid personal impressions that single someone out.

Hard Charades Ideas FAQ

How do I start a charades round?

Break the scene into a clear beginning, problem and reaction. Keep both feet on a safe surface; all objects and obstacles can be imaginary. Choose a category and difficulty, let other players look away, and select Reveal prompt. Start timer when the artist or actor is ready. Next prompt hides the new answer and resets the timer.

How do the difficulty levels work?

Easy uses concrete subjects or familiar actions. Medium adds details. Hard uses concepts or layered situations. These are editorial play estimates, not age ratings. This collection contains Hard prompts.

Can I change or pause the timer?

Choose 30, 60 or 90 seconds before a round. Pause keeps the remaining time, Resume continues, and Reset restores the selected duration. Changing a filter or selecting Next resets the timer and hides the answer.

Will prompts repeat during a game?

Within the current category and difficulty, prompts do not repeat until that matching pool is exhausted. The status announces a new cycle. Changing either filter starts a new cycle; reloading clears this in-memory history.

What if my filters have no matching prompts?

Some collections have one difficulty per category. If the chosen category and difficulty have no intersection, the tool explains the empty selection and disables Reveal, Copy and Start timer. Choose All difficulties or another category to continue.

Can children and adults use these prompts?

A host should preview the collection and choose a level the group understands. Allow seated gestures or another accessible way to take part, and never require risky movement.

Are the tools free, and is my game saved?

The tools are free and need no account. Selection and round history stay in memory in this tab; no game history is uploaded or saved. Copy is available after revealing a prompt. If copying is blocked, select the text in the manual-copy box.
